Abstract

Whereas the main subject matter of the Directive 2011/92/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 December 2011 is to establish minimum rules concerning the definition of criminal offences and sanctions in the area of sexual abuse and sexual exploitation of children, child pornography and solicitation of children for sexual purposes, the main aim of the present article is to point out the penal measures that shall be taken in order to comply with this Directive by our own country. For this purpose a general vision of the contents of the Directive is done, the penal measures are compared with the ones that are established in our criminal law and, as result of that comparison, the lines of a possible reform of our criminal law are highlighted.
