Up to the approval of the Act 4/2015, 27th April, the status of the victim of crime, a general right of the victim to be informed was not recognized in our legal system. At the moment, this right is regulated in the articles 5, 7 and 12 LEVD, which distinguish between basic pre-procedural information, information about the criminal proceeding and information about the resolutions that put end to the process. The regime of notification —by law or prior request— is different in consideration of if that information is or not essential for the exercise of the rest of rights recognized to the victim.
