This study analyzes criminal political initiatives and European Union legislation on the criminal prosecution of forms of crime linked to the phenomenon of terrorism, taking into account the constant increase of the legislation in this respect following the international commitments in the matter. Also are examined issues such as the problem linked to the concept of terrorism at international level, the incessant expansion of activities linked to forms of terrorism, or forms of terrorist financing in the European Union, particularly following the amendments introduced by the recent European Union Directive of 15 March 2017 in this respect.
