New profiles of corruption and criminal policy: crimes of private commercial bribery and corruption in sports in the penal systems of Spain and Portugal

Abstract

This paper analyzes the crimes of private commercial bribery and corruption in sport in the Spanish and Portuguese penal systems. Both countries are bound by the same supranational laws, however, the respective rules and the protected legal interests are different. This research studies these differences, focusing on criminal policy behind each model and tries to clarify some controversial issues relating to both new forms of criminality.
