Abstract

This paper analyzes the use of new technologies such as electronic cash or online role-playing games such as Second Life or World of Warcraft, to carry out crimes such as money laundering or terrorist financing, because nowadays, the use of these new technologies is not subject to strict financial controls and information exchange requirements as it happens outside the virtual world, therefore, these methods offer an excellent opportunity for criminals to carry out their illegal activities with impunity.
