Abstract

Child-to-parent violence is one of the themes that appears as a backdrop in Carlos Vermut’s film Quién te cantará (Who will sing to you, 2018). The treatment of this kind of violence in the film, accurate to the complex and elusive style of the filmmaker and therefore far from a “documentary” vision of the problem, raises nevertheless, interesting questions about the nature of this form of relational violence. The inspired and disturbing cinematographic representation of the dynamics of power, as well as the impact on the victim and the coping strategies, are the starting point of this scientific approach, from criminology and victimology, which uses the artistic representation of this complex phenomenon to analyze in depth some of its element
