Corruption in the European Union is a negative fact that continues to manifest itself today. In order to prevent this type of behaviour, a policy of prevention and repression has been articulated through the various tools available to the EU, including police and judicial cooperation. The protection of financial interests has been an important step in the fight against the scourge of corruption and fraud, since one of the current barriers to the development of the European integration process is corruption. Therefore, the European Union has articulated a policy to pursue any type of corruption from different areas in order to carry out a comprehensive policy, such as cooperation between states, judicial harmonisation and providing the Union itself with its own tools to investigate this type of incident.
